We are learning to summarise a narrative text.


VOCABULARY

Narrative: Through narratives, children develop a strong sense of how stories work.

 

Structure: How parts in a story are put together

 

Orientation: The beginning part of the story where the setting, characters and the plot is introduced.

 

Setting: Setting sets the scene, mood and the characters in a story.

 

Characters: They are the ones who act in the events that are happening in the story

 

Plot: The way the author creates the events and organises a chain of events in a narrative story.

 

Sequence of events: Order of which events take place in a story.

 

Resolution: Solution to the events in the story.
