Year 6-7 Transition 2024

Foundation Enrolments applications close tomorrow 28th July

We are now accepting enrolments for all year levels for 2024. During term 3 we begin to focus on the task of planning for next year. Grade structures, workforce planning and budgets are features of this planning. We are asked by the Department of Education at this time to project our enrolments for the year ahead. We endeavour to be as accurate as  possible in order to ensure that our budgets and staffing requirements are reasonably correct. If you have a student for 2024 to enrol, or know of students intending to enrol, please assist us by ensuring enrolment forms are provided to the office sooner rather than later.

 

For Foundation students in 2024, the final date to lodge enrolment forms is 28th July (this Friday). All newly enrolled students for 2024 will have a confirmation letter mailed to them by 11th August. This is a statewide process to support schools in their planning and staffing practices, as well as supporting a smooth transition for pre-schoolers to primary school. Families can now apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2024 at Albany Rise Primary School.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available from 24 April 2023)
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 28 July 2023
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 11 August 2023. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 25 August 2023
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2023
  6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Tuesday 30 January 2024.

Enrolment applications submitted after 28 July 2023 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Term 2, Week 1ARPS distributes Placement information packs to Parents/Carers
Friday 12th MayParent/Carers return application for Year 7 placement 2024 forms to ARPS by this date (no later).
Wednesday 19th JulyARPS notify parents/carers of Year 6 students, in writing, of Year 7 secondary school placement offer for 2024
Friday 28th JulyClosing date for parents/carers to lodge a written non-placement appeal to their preferred secondary school
Tuesday 12th December 2023Secondary Schools Host Orientation Day for all Year 6 students.
