John XXIII Rowing Club

South West Head of the River Champions

On the 21March, the John XXIII Rowing Club travelled down to Bunbury to take part in the South West Head of the River.  Families came down Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a BYO Dinner at sunset on the Bunbury foreshore.

John XXIII competed against local schools Bunbury Catholic, Bunbury Grammar as well as Shenton College. With a squad of 72 rowers, John XXIII entered 65 crews into 40 events and won 15 of them!  The Club came home with two trophies, The Ronald Walter Prosser Cup for winning the Open Mixed 8+ and The Charles Hastie Cup for overall points.

A big thank you to all the coaches, parents, and committee members for making it such a successful weekend for the Club, this regatta was a great dress rehearsal for the All Schools regatta season in Term 2.  Well done to all the rowers, you represented the College, and your families with pride. 

Years 9-12 Girls Rowing Camp

This is our last call for your Rowing Camp. Please register via the link below by this SUNDAY 28 March.

We will be running a Rowing Training Camp during the April School holidays for all girl rowers in Years 9-12. It is a 3-day, one night sleep over camp based at the school gym with buses to and from Canning Bridge. Cost is $100 to cover bus, breakfast, bowling and coaching fees (invoice will be sent separately).
