Shave for a Cure

by Shiona Jenkins

Year 12 student Dani Talbett has decided to raise money for the "Shave for a Cure" foundation as part of her Personal Development Skills, class task. "Shave for a Cure", part of the World's Greatest Shave, is a long standing and well known charity who raise money for cancer sufferers.

The event took place at Tuesday mornings assembly, where Principal Karl Schier got involved, cutting off small pony tail sections of Dani's hair, aided by Year 12 students, Shiann Talbett and Katelyn Prior.

Dani wanted to raise money and awareness for the cause due to the loss of family members to the disease. A fundraising jar has been situated at the school office over the past few weeks and the current donations tally is expected to be around $234.

We would like to congratulate Dani on her fundraising efforts and applaud her act of selflessness.
