Scout's Success
by Lynne Newberry & Patrick Andrews
On the 22nd March, B.S.C. student, Patrick Andrews was awarded the Australian Scout Award for completing a series of success criteria relating to planning a 3 day hike and learning how to tie various knots that would be required for different purposes, during the expedition.
"While I was working towards my award I was required to learn various knots that I would need to use while camping. I had to plan a hike that lasted 3 days and account for any dangers or complications that may arise along the way. This included the weather conditions and the weight of the equipment. I also had to work out how many people would be required to carry the equipment to camp each night." - Patrick Andrews
Due to COVID Patrick was unable to undertake the planned hike, however he still did an outstanding job with his planning. Congratulations Patrick!
