Resource Centre

Week 8

In the Resource Centre we are preparing for two events in the future:

* Book Week, with its parade and other activities in Week 2 of Term 4.

* An author visit on Monday 21 September, the last week of Term 3.

This year we have been fortunate in being able to book well-known author Phil Cummings to come and talk to our Primary students. His many books include picture books for the very young,  and other, thought-provoking ones for older students as well as novels. In recent years he has been co-authoring musicals for on-line students to perform.

Mr Croser and I both regard Phil as a friend. We know him as a very warm-hearted and caring person. I look forward to seeing him engage with our students and feel sure he will provide them with an enjoyable and inspiring experience.

PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE

Premier’s Reading Challenge has finished for 2020! Well done to all students who completed their 12 books. We had a rush of completed forms coming to the Resource Centre in the week leading up to the end of the challenge. The following students just got their forms in just in time:

Primary - Esther, Zeb, Samuel, Candice, Eli, Isaac, Laela, India, Noah, Lachlan, Seb, Elise, Hannah, Zoe, Ester, Bella, Millan, Henry, Blake, Eliza, Anika, Oakley, Samuel, Tavis, Annaleise & Krstina.

Secondary - Emily, Lily-Mae, Nathaniel, Tessa, Josiah, Mia, Jenny, Callan & Tendai.

Well done!

Now I have the task of entering everyone’s data on the Challenge website.

In the next Newsletter I will be able to report on the final number of students who completed this year’s Challenge, and if we broke our 2018 record.

Although the Challenge is over, and the holidays are approaching….DON’T stop reading!
