Senior School Happenings

The General Achievement Test (GAT) went off without a hitch on Wednesday morning, which was so pleasing. It was great to see the level of seriousness that the students applied to the test, as this year it is going to be a very important as a moderating tool for all students. I congratulate all of the students who sat this test, on their commitment and efforts.

While we have had to remain remote learning this week, as per government guidelines, we are so excited for the students to be back and raring to go as of Monday. We are looking forward to getting back into face-to-face lessons and starting serious exam revision with the Year 12 students, who only have four more weeks of school until exams start. Eeek! It is going to be a busy time for all students, but we know that with the consistent hard work that most students have been putting into their work throughout the year, this will pay off for them in their exams. Continuous hard work between now and the end of November is all we ask and all senior staff will be supporting them every step of the way to face their exams with confidence.

At this stage, the Year 12s will be working hard at school until the end of the day on Friday 6th November, with their first exam, English, on Tuesday 10th November at 9am. Exams for Year 12s will all be held here on the school grounds, due to COVID restrictions and directions from the VCAA. It is just another change we have been thrown to deal with in what has been such an usual year for all of us.

Modified Year 11 and VCAL finishing dates are being finalised at the moment and we will have these out to parents and students as soon as possible.

We cannot wait to be back into “proper teaching” next week and we look forward to seeing all of the senior students back and ready to go. We know that this has been a challenging time for everyone, but all senior staff are committed to continue working hard with all students to ensure that they are best placed to finish the year as strongly as possible.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any problems or questions. I am looking forward to a busy, but exciting Term 4!
