Introducing the Assistant Acting Principal for Term 4

I am so thrilled to have been chosen as the Acting Assistant Principal for Edenhope College for Term 4. What an honour and privilege to be able to work even closer with a wider range of students and shape the future of our College for the remainder of 2020, moving into 2021 and beyond.

I have been working at the College for the last five years, in various capacities, predominantly teaching Senior English and working with students to prepare them coming into the end of their Secondary schooling and for their time beyond Edenhope College. This year I have been working hard in my role as Head of Senior Pathways, but am always happy to take on new roles and responsibilities if they are of benefit for the students and their futures.

Education is a crucial step to our adult life and what students are able to do and achieve at school can allow them to have a world of possibilities at their choosing when they finish their schooling. I think that there is no limit to what an education can provide for children and I love working with them to be able to play a very small part in shaping what their future might hold.

I grew up on a farm near Edenhope, which my parents still own, and attended Edenhope Consolidated School and Edenhope College back in the day. We made the move back to Edenhope after purchasing a farm, just before we started a family, as we wanted our children to grow up experiencing the country lifestyle and I know that Edenhope is a great community to be part of. It has been lovely coming back.

I am currently expecting my third child, who is due to make an appearance in mid-January – I am definitely hoping to make it through the term, as we know that babies have a mind of their own! I already have two young boys, William and Matthew, and my husband and I own a farm, which he manages, in between Edenhope and Harrow.

I am really looking for to the challenge of this role and the possibilities that it presents with working even closer within the school and community.

My door is always open and I look forward to getting to know more of you, as I find my feet in this new role for Term 4. It is going to be a great term!
