U11 GS Lightning Bolts

The Bolts had a tight game against the Heritage Opals on Friday night but unfortunately couldn’t quite manage a win, going down 7 to 9.

All the girls defended very well with multiple intercepts during the game. The mid court in particular (Anais, Indie and Krisha) didn’t stop running the whole game.

Great shooting by Lucy with 6 of our 7 goals scored. (Mikayla 1)

The final game for the season is the grand final on Friday 25 September. Good luck girls!

U8 GS Magic

The GS Magic scored a 13-4 win over the CH Cubs on Monday afternoon.  Kaden had a great game and scored his first basket of the year.  Shaurya displayed his dribbling skills and almost scored from the free throw line. Lachlan again showed his advanced dribbling ability and used his height by catching some great rebounds.

Scorers: Jayden (8pts), Lachlan (3pts) and Kaden (2pts).

U8 GS Thunder

The GS Thunder had a high speed game against the CH Eagles on Monday.  What an intro for our newest player, Cruz!  Emily’s smile lit up the court - she is clearly gaining confidence, and we saw Rhys’ great instinct work to our advantage more than once. Quick reflexes from Downey earned him a successful rebound score, and Hadassah’s amazing defense stopped the opposition’s star player from scoring numerous times.  Working on passing and catching will improve our offensive game, as will learning to find a good position for the pass.  Despite not winning, the Thunder worked hard and ran hard.  Keep up the good work.

Scorers: Downey (2pts), Lorenzo (2pts) and Rhys (2pts).

U10 GS Rockets

The boys from Team Rockets faced a very fierce team from St Davids last night.  We started really well and scored early on to put us into the lead.

It was a very hard fought game but Good Shepherd held on to a convincing win.  Well done to Hudson who stole some balls very effectively from the opposition and kept it in our half.  Ashrith and Divan worked hard to get those goals in.  Luke, Tatum , Harry and Preston passed well and kept defending till the end.  Well done boys.  Final score was 22 - 10.

Scorers:  Ashrith (10pts);  Divan (8pts) and  Hudson (4pts)
