Parent-Teacher Interviews

In the final week of this term we will be conducting Parent-Teacher interviews via Webex.  This will be an opportunity for a two-way conversation between parents and teachers about how your child is going in terms of their wellbeing and their academic development. During such a disrupted and challenging year, these interviews will provide a great opportunity to share the successes and challenges your children have been through during this time.

Many parents have had the unique opportunity to learn so much more during this time about the school curriculum, teaching methods and the strengths and challenges your child may have with their learning. You may have had the chance to notice what really engages them and allows them to be 'in the flow' with their learning, and also where they might be hesitant to take a risk with their learning.

During these interviews we would love for you to be able to share with your child's teacher what you have noticed about their learning (the positives and the negatives) as well as how your child is coping with these Stage 4 lockdowns. 

We are all hopeful of spending more time back on site with our students next term, and the insights we can gain from the experts on them (their parents) will allow us to plan for and support them with their learning and wellbeing.

I want to thank you all for the support you have given your children with their remote learning. The partnership between schools, parents and children has never been more inter-linked. I also want to thank so many of you for supporting a growth mindset with your children's learning. Focusing on their strengths and building resilience to face challenging tasks is such an important part of teaching. Showing our children we believe in them, and that we recognise and celebrate their strengths, allows them to become great life-long learners. 

When you choose your words thoughtfully you cannot help but create positive relationships; and when you choose words which give others a sense of their own gifts, you create positive transformation.
