CHPS Art Show-Fundraiser

On Wednesday the 23rd of October Clifton Hill Primary School is holding a whole school Art Show. As in previous years, we have decided to use this opportunity to raise money to support the ‘Friends of the Hudad’, a group of local people who have strong past links to our school community. The project began in 2014 and their vision was to build a school in Ethiopia in the mountains above Lalibela. Previously the children in this area had limited access to a formal education as the nearest school is a three hour walk away. The school has now been completed, a water system has been installed and the vegetable garden is up and running. The group are currently raising money to fund the sustainability of the project, which involves the employment of locals and maintenance of the school and school grounds.

It is an inspiring story about the difference that a small group of people can make and as a school community we feel privileged to be contributing in a small way. We will be running a number of fundraising activities on the evening of the Art Show including a BBQ, a raffle, a cake stall and an interactive art installation.

We hope to see you all there!
