Report

Mrs Robyn Thomson - Principal

Welcome to our new style Newsletter via iNewsletter. iNewsletter is an online newsletter program which is specifically designed for schools and other non profit organisations. The program allows for unlimited photos and videos to be included with consistent formatting. This program also allows us to track our readers in terms of most views and what sections are clicked on and opened. This information will provide valuable feedback in terms of what our community is interested in reading in our newsletters. I hope to use this information to further improve our newsletters.

First Eucharist Workshop

In preparation for celebrating the Sacrament of First Eucharist and together with the catechists from our Parish, our Year 4 students and their families participated in a workshop last Monday evening. Michelle from Presentation Family conducted the workshop and discussed with the children the different parts of the Mass and then the children rehearsed how to receive the bread and wine. Our children will celebrate their Sacrament of First Eucharist on Sunday 19th May at 10 am and I wish them well on the day.

Mr Brophy

Last Tuesday our Mr Tom Brophy attended his graduation ceremony at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). Tom graduated with a Bachelor of Education and I congratulate him on his achievement.  He is currently teaching our Senior Learning Community this year and is a wonderful addition to our  community.

Woolworths Earn & Learn

Starting 1st May 2019, Woolworths commenced their Earn and Learn Program.  It is very simple to participate.  All that is required is to shop at Woolworths and for every $10 spent you will receive a sticker which can then be placed on the sticker sheet.  A sticker sheet came home last week.  Once the sheet is filled you can place the sheet inside the collection box in the School Office.  If you run out of sheets there are some spares in the School Office or they can be downloaded by visiting teaching.com.au. Alternatively, you can also place the stickers in the collection box located in the School Office or in store at Whitehorse Road Balwyn or at Doncaster Shopping Town.

By participating in this program we are able to choose from a huge range of new equipment including ICT, science, sport, mathematics, arts and crafts and more.

This program runs for a short time Wednesday 1st May until Tuesday 25th June.

Happy shopping

Viva La Fruit

The fruit retailer Viva La Fruit located at the Greythorn Shops in Balwyn North run a community loyalty program for community groups. As part of this program customers who shop at their store have the opportunity to support any of these community groups by dropping their receipt into a loyalty box inside the store of Viva La Fruit. At the end of the year, the receipts are totalled and Viva La Fruit donate 10% of the total of the receipts directly to that community group. This is a wonderful opportunity to promote our school and also to raise some extra income. I encourage you to shop at Viva La Fruit located at 291 Doncaster Road Balwyn as a way of supporting our school.

Warm regards
