Public Speakers - Out of This World Presentations

Last night a large crowd had the pleasure of seeing some of the best public speakers in the district present articulate, engaging speeches. The topics for both competitions asked the students to take us on a trip out of this world to visit aliens or entrench ourselves as a character inside a book.

The crowd at the Bowling Club was full of praise for the students who competed in the Year 3/4  competition. Students were asked to share a story of an alien encounter. Ben, Emily and Lily all shone with their intriguing stories and delivered them in a way that left the audience wanting more. Lily was the eventual winner of this competition beating competitors from Emmaus and Napoleons.

The Year 5/6 participants were challenged to share their love of a story and transport themselves into the book as a character. The presentations were of an extremely high level with students using sparkling vocabulary, humour and in depth intricate knowledge of the books they chose. Candace, Izzy and Quinn performed to an exceptionally high standard and each successfully took the audience on different adventures in different ways. Quinn was the eventual winner of this competition.

Over the last 3 years we have seen this competition grow in popularity with the students and we hope to see this continue into the future. Our thanks goes out to the Lions Club for organising this event. All recipients were presented with a certificate of participation and appreciation.
