REMINDER - SWIMMING TRIALS FOR DISTRICTS

In preparation for the District swimming event on Friday 21st February at GESAC, we are holding school swimming trials and training. Our next session is next Wednesday 12th (trials/training) and 19th February (training) at Harold Holt swimming pool from 7am-8am.

 

*Students must be a minimum of 9 years old – 13 years old as of 31/12/2020*

STATE SCHOOL VICTORIA - STATE TEAM TRIALS

Online nominations are now open and close March 1st.  Late entries will not be accepted.

 

These trials are strictly for students currently competing at an ELITE LEVEL in their sport e.g. playing in a representative team, have won several best and fairest awards etc.

 

GIRLS - Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Cricket, Football (AFL)

BOYS - Basketball, Football (AFL), Soccer, Cricket

 

Students must be turning 10, 11 or 12 by the 31 December 2020.

Students must be available on Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th April (Week 1 of Term 2) to trial.

 

To NOMINATE, PARENTS (not students) must:

  1. Discuss in person or email with Jo. Only a maximum of 3 students per school are permitted so this is essential.
  2. Once approved by Jo, complete the online nomination form https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/team-vic and select one of the listed sports (Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Cricket, AFL). 
  3. Submit $25 non-refundable payment.
  4. After registration, you will receive a confirmation to your nominated email address which will contain a tax receipt and your endorsement trial form. This form needs to be signed prior to the trial by the School Principal. No signed form = no trial.
  5.  All the information regarding the trial will be emailed directly (day, date, time and location) from the Division Coordinator before the end of Term 1, 2020.  

 

Following the trials, the students who are selected must be available to participate in a series of SSV trials at each level as follows - Beachside Division Trials > Southern Metropolitan Trials > SSV Trials/Camp. A maximum of twelve players plus up to 4 emergencies will be selected to represent School Sport Victoria. Participation in a Team Vic state team is self-funded.  As a guide it may cost between $1,000 - $2,000 to participate (Costs may include uniforms, host state levies, transport, accommodation and meals. Costs will vary depending on the location of the Championship).
