School Leaders Report

Term 2, Week 9

SCHOOL CAPTAINS

What a great term we have had! We would like to thank Ormond Ice-Creamery and the PFA for organising a treat of ice-cream or a donut! This was a great addition to our SRC organised PJ & Movie day!

All of the money we raised went to a charity called Mirabel who supports disadvantaged children who don’t live with their parents because they can’t take care of them. Mirabel takes them on activities with the other children so they can have fun playing and learning with their friends. We raised about $230 dollars for Mirabel.

Yesterday it was great to be able to learn about Indigenous storytelling and culture with Auntie Mon! We learnt about they symbols they used to represent different people and animals and learnt a new song together too!

We hope everyone has a great holidays!

See you next term

Darcy & Tess

LEARNING LEADERS

Hello everyone, we come to the end of this term and unfortunately we have only managed two Drama clubs, so collectively the Learning Leaders have decided to bring the Drama club to Week 5 next term instead of Week 3.

The term should bring opportunities to the Learning Leaders and we have lots of fun things planned for our next term.

We hope to see you there

Sasha and Cole.

WORLD JUSTICE LEADERS

Thank you to everyone who donated their coats and blankets for the Coat Drive! We are blown away by the generosity and support from our community.

These coats will be donated through the holidays to keep many people warm through Winter!

Thanks Xander, Caleb & Saumya

SPORTS CAPTAINS

We are so proud of the great term we have all had! There has been so much going on and we know everyone is ready for a break over the holidays! Next term please make sure we are looking after the school sports equipment properly. In particular can everyone please make sure all balls and octoplay is put away at the end of each break so the captains don't need to clean up for you.

Thank you all for being great participants and behaving at KABOOM. You all followed the rules at the KABOOM and respected the people who were running it. Congratulations to Tym and Max who won the t shirt. What amazing dance moves you all have!! Thanks to Mrs Di Camilo, Miss Norton, Miss Reed, Miss S and Mr O for getting involved and sharing their great dance moves with us.

The Year 5/6s have had a big term of sport, since last newsletter we had two teams enter the mixed division for the Netball Lightning Premiership. Miss Norton’s team were undefeated until the  grand finals which ended as 4 - 1 to St Joseph's Black Rock. Mrs Di Camillo’s Team had a great day too! Everyone tried very hard, they had a go at lots of new positions and it was great to see them having fun. We all had the best time and are really proud of our achievements. Lots of us had hardly played any netball before this term.

You might not know this but there are interschool sports athletics is in Term 3. There are lots of events to participate in, including the 100 to 1500 metre sprint, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and triple jump. So in your sports lessons Mr Addicoat will teach you athletics so you can all do your best!

Have a great holidays everyone, and see you for more great sports events in Term 3!
