MFG Year 7 Netball
Netball report
On Thursday 26th of May, the year 7 interschool netball was held at South Geelong Sports Hub. Overall it was a really great day and everyone had fun regardless of our game results! We were all proud to represent MFG at the tournament. We thank Miss Stacey and the older students that helped with coaching prior and those who came along on the day.
A team:
R1: vs Bellarine Secondary College - win
R2: vs Western Heights Secondary College - loss
R3: vs Oberon High School - loss
After our 3 official games, we played Geelong High for fun in a constellation final and we won.
B team:
R1: vs Western Heights Secondary College - draw
R2: vs Northern Bay Secondary College - win
The B team made it to the semis against Grovedale and they won, which led them to the final against Western Heights. At full time they drew, this meant they played 3 minutes of overtime at each end of the court, so 6 minutes in total. Unfortunately inovertime we lost by 3 points.
Everyone was very supportive of one another and it was a great day.
Tahlia Davis 7LA big thank you to the wonderful Year 7 students who participated in the interschool netball. You are all very talented netballers and I enjoyed watching you work together to demonstrate amazing teamwork and communication skills. It was fantastic to see you engage with students from all different home groups and make new friends. Thank you for being a pleasure to take off-site for the day!
