Principal's message

Dear Parents/Carers,
It has certainly been a chilly week; I know I have had to dig out the beanie with the temperature plummeting. I am continually amazed how some of our students do not feel the cold and are happy in a polo shirt or dress; I must be getting old as I have felt the cold this week.
Thank you for being so supportive in keeping your children home if they are unwell. We have had a great deal of both students and staff absent with either the flu or COVID. We realise how hard it is, especially with work commitments, so we appreciate your efforts.
I know we have had several parents coming in looking for misplaced jumpers. Please also remember to check the specialist areas like the gym, art room and cultural centre as students will often take their jumpers off when at specialists. It's so important that all items are clearly labelled with your child's name.
Our students have been great this term, dealing with all the interruptions and different teachers and replacement teachers that they have had. They have tried very hard to continue with class routines and structures to ensure minimal learning disruption, and they have often been a great help to the replacement teachers. Of course, it's not ideal, but thank you to everyone for being so understanding and flexible as we move through this period, with so many of us falling ill. Please remember to thank your children, as they have done a fantastic job this term.
Today our senior girls football team competed against several other schools at the Dennington football ground. With the weather the way it is, it could be a return to the old-fashioned mud bath, which was just as much fun as getting a kick from memory.
Thanks to everyone who came to our open night and Prep Information Night for 2023. School Tours are still on and we welcome everyone to come along and look at the superb teaching and learning in our classrooms to understand what we do regarding literacy, numeracy, and well-being and why we are so excited about it and the progress we are making. We will shortly share further information regarding our tours and Jamo Juniors (transition program) on our social media platforms. If you already have a child at Jamo and are enrolling a new Prep for 2023, please get your enrolment forms in as soon as possible.
This Friday is a whole school report writing day (pupil free), TheirCare will be operating for the day. Monday is also a public holiday so we will see you all on Tuesday 14th June.
Have a great long weekend, everyone.
