Chaplain's Corner 2022

Hello MPS Family

We have such a fantastic term ahead for our Community and I am thankful I get to be involved in many aspects of School life here at Marangaroo.  Just a few of the things happening in Chaplain's Corner:

Breakfast Club

MPS has a 5 day a week, Staff led breakfast program.  This is a real credit to the staff who continue to volunteer day in and day out.  We would like to extend involvement in the running of the club to our school community.  If you would like to volunteer on a specific day this term we would love to have you.  Please contact myself either through the front office or on Class Dojo for further details.

Kids Who Care

This term there is a focus on the Tuesday recess get together with Sue Campbell and myself.  This is a time for students to reflect, communicate to Sue and myself and continue to make this program impactful and helpful to the students.  We have some very keen year 5 students involved in the processes and activities which is such an encouragement for their leadership next year.

Assembly Coffee mornings with the Chaplain will be returning this term with the first assembly next week on Friday 5 August.

Fathers and significant role model community breakfast is also in the planning stages and more details will follow shortly.

Finally, over the holidays I had the pleasure to attend the Chaplain Formation for 2 days where 450 Chaplains from around the state came together at the Esplanade Hotel. We took the opportunity to celebrate, remember, learn and be encouraged by speakers and the stories of others.  The theme for this year is thankfulness.  We spent time in groups sharing some of the hardships from our School communities but then we got to hear from each other things that had happened to individuals, families and communities that made us thankful.

There is always something in our days to be thankful for and although it is not always obvious to us what that might be if we start small our thoughts will quickly turn to other things we are thankful about.  I will always be encouraging thankfulness in our Community as it generates peace in a somewhat chaotic World we live in. I am thankful for you.
