Another great term

Year 11

Now you can take a breath, Year 11! It has been a very busy time for everyone as the first round of assessments have now been completed. I hope you all take the time over the holidays to take a well-earned rest to recharge the batteries and spend time with family and friends. This is also a great opportunity to make study notes, practise skills and get yourself up to date and organised for next term. Teachers have been very impressed with the level of commitment demonstrated by Year 11 this term and we are very excited to see you all continue to progress. Keep up the great work!

This term, we have seen a number of students achieve success in gaining full-time apprenticeships and employment. It takes great courage to step outside the safety of the school environment but I am confident that the lessons that you have all learned at school will help you all to be successful in your new endeavours. Congratulations to you all and I’m sure you will do Cecil proud!

Year 8

At the beginning of the year, I set a simple challenge to Year 8 which was to “work with your teachers”.   explained to them that the success of this challenge would be measured by the number of CHAMP points they received, both individually and as a group.  At our assembly this week, it was a great pleasure to be able to celebrate the great successes that Year 8 have achieved in meeting this challenge. When we looked at the data, Miss Cupac, Mr Wilcox and I were blown away by the number of points that students had accrued and the number of positive reports that we have received from teachers. Well done Year 8 on a fantastic effort!

Farewell Mrs James

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Year 11 and Year 8, to wish my Deputy neighbour - Mrs James all the best in her new role as Principal at Bulli High School.  It has been a privilege to work alongside Mrs James. Her knowledge, care, compassion and commitment to see every student succeed will be sorely missed. We have been fortunate to have had Mrs James as a member of the Cecil community.   I am confident that we will continue to see the positive impact of her work at the school for many years to come.

Congratulations Mrs James!

I hope you all have an enjoyable and relaxing break and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 2
