Vending machine @ Cecil

The students from Work Studies have generated the idea to create a vending machine for students and staff to purchase selected stationery items and snacks. The idea started in term 3 last year and with the help of Mr Alfonsi, Mr Chambour and Mr Abbott (previous staff member), the vending machine proposal was brought to life and is situated in the school library.

Students and teachers of the Year 12 Work Studies 1 and Year 12 Work Studies 2 classes have dedicated much time and effort into ensuring this machine is filled with many items that students will find resourceful in assisting them with their learning needs.  At the same time, our class has been "crunching the numbers" to monitor how successful the venture has been.  At present our machine has grossed $4000 in sales with a net profit of approximately $2000 since August 2020.  Some of the items that are available to purchase from the vending machine include stationery items such as pens, highlighters, post-it notes, rulers, staplers and A4 exercise books.  The machine also offers snack items such as mints/chews, savoury crackers, Le Snak packs and Mentos.

The idea is to provide learning equipment on site as well as suitable snacks for the convenience of both students and staff.

Each week students are working to refill the vending machine and compose new ideas that would suit the needs and wants for students and staff within the school. Ideas that are currently in proposal are protein cookies, palm cards, hand warmers and new pens.

Stay tuned and use your break times to purchase items from the vending machine located in the library - this is available for all students in year and to all staff members of Cecil Hills High School.

If you have a suggestion for new items or improvements within the vending machine, please speak to Mr Alfonsi (Maths staff room), Mr Chambour (Social Sciences staff room) or any of the students from the Year 12 Work Studies classes who will be more than happy to consider your suggestions.
