In our Special Education classes
We are all heroes with ability
Every Tuesday, our students are given the opportunity to be trained by the charismatic, enthusiastic and passionate team behind Heroes with Ability. Not only do they wheel in trolleys filled with equipment so that each student is well-equipped, they also carry bright smiles and energy to ensure each student feels valued and welcomed.
Over the past two weeks, we have seen our students grow in both ability and confidence in the game of rugby league. The nervousness of interacting in a large group is now replaced with excitement and delight as our students unite to work as a team. We cannot wait to see how much more our students will grow as the weeks progress.
Heroes with Ability was formed to inspire, teach, motivate, as well as incorporate all aspects of health and wellbeing, social inclusion, and community awareness. They are strong advocates for inclusion and demonstrate real awareness of individual ability.
Thank you to Heroes with Ability for your contribution to our school community.

Birthday celebrations
Joseph Kanoon turned 13 in March. Joseph celebrated his birthday at a small gathering in the Support Unit. As you can see, he is tickled pink by the occasion. He laughed as the wind blew his candle out but then seconds later the flame reignited - what a treat! Happy Birthday Joseph!
Colour Wheel Art
During this project, students painted square pieces of paper as part of a colour wheel art project. One side was painted with acrylic paint the other with water colour - two very different mediums. Pieces were cut into triangles and then assembled to create a spin- wheel. Once assembled, the students enjoyed watching their spin-wheels come to life with the colours merging, displaying a prism of colours and white.
Work Experience
Our students continue to enjoy participating in work experience. Lachlan Smith, Theodore Tran, Phu Thien Nguyen, George Yalda, Solomone Vaiomounga and Giovanni Fava participated in work experience at Packhorse, preparing Staedler brand erasers for prepackaging.
Bowling success
Pure happiness at finally achieving a strike - the moment of joy for Christina George (photo left-hand side above). We can also see Dane helping Cheyenne during a bowling session (photo right-hand side above). We feel much joy as we see our students maturing and growing into respectful, responsible and successful individuals.
In the Support Unit, we are proud of our students' achievements - no matter how small.
