Parking and Safety Around Schools

A reminder that the Kiss and Go pull in bay at the front of the school and most of the nose to kerb parking in Telopea Crescent are drop off zones only.  That is, pull in to drop of your children, kiss them goodbye and go – stay no longer than 2 minutes.

Whittlesea Council regularly patrol and you won’t want to receive a parking ticket through the post.

Please do not park or pull into a staff car park.

Bicycle Centre Eltham

Andrew Thomas from Bicycle Centre Eltham (8414 0091) kindly volunteered his time today to come out and check our year 5 students bikes in preparation for their Bike Ed program which will be run on Tuesday 9th, Thursday 11th and Tuesday 16th March.

Andrew has informed me that he is more than happy to have a look at any year 5 student’s bike if they need it checked.

A huge thank you goes out to Andrew Thomas from Bicycle Centre Eltham for volunteering his time to us. THANK YOU Andrew.

Kelyenak Master Plan brief

It was fantastic to have the students, staff and families of Plenty Parklands Primary School involved in early consultations for design of the masterplan for Kelynack Reserve.   We are now at the stage of applying to the Victorian Governments ‘Growing Suburbs Fund’ to complete the next stage of the upgrades. Demonstrating community input and support for the project will enhance Council’s chances of success, which will result in a magnificent asset for the local community.

We would very much appreciate letters from the school community in support of the application.  Of course, there is a deadline! It would be great to receive these by Friday 5 March ahead of the submission date early the following week.

Included below are some dot-points below that you may include and a copy of the final masterplan design document is below, for your information.

Points to consider:

  • Support for the new play space and multi-use area
  • Inclusion of the school in the development of the master plan and seeing their feedback included in the final design
  • The benefits of improving the connection between the school and the reserve
  • Benefit to parents and families who use the reserve during school drop off/ pick up
  • Safe space for families to gather and for students to access
