Hi I’m Emma, I’m your new Receptionist at South Melbourne Primary.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
You’ll see me at the front desk assisting you with your everyday queries, supporting student attendance, sick bay, and if you don’t get the chance to see me at reception you will most likely hear me at the other end of the phone helping you wherever I can.
A few things about me is I enjoy weekends with my little Maltese Shih-Tzu Mocha as well as living by the bay and taking any opportunity to explore Victoria.
I hope to see you all sometime soon.
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.
Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school student. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.
If you would like to apply for the first time, please contact the school office on 9935 9399 and ask for an application form.
You can also download the form, and find out more about the program and eligibility, on the Department of Education and Training’s Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund web page.
Check with the school office if you are unsure, and please return completed forms to the school office as soon as possible.
On behalf of all of the staff at SMPS, I would like to say a huge thank you for completing the Summer Reading Challenge with your children. It was wonderful to see the wide range of literature that our wonderful students have been reading over the holidays. It was also very clear to see the huge amount of effort that was put into the SRC by our parents and carers. Thank you so much for setting your child up for success. We truly enjoyed reading through all of the challenges. There were beautiful pictures of siblings reading together with their siblings, parents, carers and other family members. We even saw what some of your home libraries look like - they are fantastic! Research has shown that parents reading to children 3-5 days per week (compared to 2 or less) has the same effect on the child’s reading skills at age 4-5 as being six months older. Reading to them 6-7 days per week has the same effect as being almost 12 months older. How incredible that you have been giving them this opportunity at such an early age in life!
The 2021 School Fees are due on Monday 1st of March and are available to pay via Compass Course Confirmation and Payments. Our Parent Parent Arrangements are available on the school website (https://southmelbourneps.vic.edu.au/) along with the DET's Policy.
Payments can be made in full or if you require a payment plan, please contact our Business Manager, Tess, on 9935 9399 or tess.duerden@southmelbourneps.vic.edu.au. CentrePay is also available.
