Digital Technologies

This term the IELC students have been learning about digital technologies and participating in project-based learning. At the start of the term, they spent a considerable amount of time learning how to use robotics.

At Hampstead Primary School, as a part of our STEM program, we have a range of robotics including Bluebots, Ozobots, Spheros and Lego WeDO 2.0. Each IELC class is learning how to use age-appropriate robotics and software on their iPads to code the various robots for different purposes.

They have been working hard to create 3D story maps and game boards then coding robots to move around and retell stories or play games. The students are yet to film and narrate their stories or create tutorials for their made-up games. At the end of the term, they will learn how to share their creations using safe online platforms.

As the students progress through their projects, they have demonstrated creativity, teamwork and their ability to take ownership of their learning. It has been wonderful to see them maintain focus and be passionate about their learning.
