Year 12

Here is a glimpse into a 'Day in the life' of Year 12 students at our College.

'After a long and challenging 2020 that involved lots of remote learning and not being able to socialise with friends, we were thrilled to be able to wear our 'pigtails' and put in our white ribbons and finally become the Class of 2021!

Our time had finally come to be in the Atrium and seated at a table with our friendship groups for the first time! When walking in on the first day the excitement from all the Year 12 students was wonderful to see, with everyone hugging and embracing the moment. It gave us time to catch up with one another after the summer holidays and get ourselves prepared for the year ahead that we are all very excited to embark on.'

'Despite our year level settling smoothly into the year, the recent announcement by Premier Daniel Andrews regarding a five day lock down threw a minor 'curveball' our way. We all prepared ourselves for another remote learning experience as we filled our bags with textbooks and said our goodbyes.

Although we faced challenges learning remotely once again, the lockdown provided us with the opportunity to organise ourselves at home whilst also enjoying small sleep-ins and time to work asynchronously. It was soon revealed that we would return to the College, allowing us to fully appreciate the moments we all have together.'

'Whilst being in Year 12 will be challenging; our heads buried in textbooks throughout the year, memorising terms and equations, we are truly excited to experience an exhilarating year. The big events, such as our upcoming Year 12 Formal, the Retreat and House Sport Carnivals will be highlights, giving us memories to last a lifetime. There are also the smaller (but equally exciting) benefits of being a Year 12 student at our College, such as having our own kitchen and the abundance of free periods!

Year 12 is the year that brings friendships closer than ever, and unites the year level, as we all manoeuvre our way through to the next adventure in our life. We are so excited to begin this journey with the support of our teachers and look forward to enjoying every step along the way.'
