Year 10

Despite the brief lockdown, It has been a great start to the year for our Year 10 students! Many of them are taking on a VCE subject for the first time and with this comes the extra responsibility of being well organised. Planning homework and study is paramount to success and this factor, together with the need to efficiently take notes, were addressed in  the recent Elevate workshop. Workshops promoting study skills will continue to be offered throughout the year.

We welcome four new students to our year level, Hayley, Jae, Kate and Sophie. We look forward to working with them as 'Kilbreda Girls' over the next three years. They will no doubt experience much 'Strength and Kindliness' in that time.

At a recent year level Assembly, opportunities for engagement in Living Justice and Interfaith programs were presented. These include FIRE Carriers, a group who are dedicated to raising awareness about the traditions of our First Nation peoples together with a better understanding of reconciliation and NAIDOC Week.

The 'Building Bridges' program is also offered at Year 10 and is an interfaith program where our students get to experience the traditions and atmosphere of other faith based schools such as The King David School (Jewish) and Mt Hira College (Islamic).  Students are encouraged to apply for a place in this worthwhile program.

They are also encouraged to be involved in any of the other activities on offer such as sporting teams, performing arts, debating and peer support, to name a few.
