Knowing where to find information is important for parents to feel informed and for students to be comfortable and confident at school. 

BSC Study Planner

All Year 7 students receive a Study Planner. This planner explains the expectations, uniform, and bell times as well as providing tips regarding homework and time management. It also has a place to record your timetable for the week.

Calendar

School-wide and significant events are listed on our website calendar. The calendar link is conveniently available via the Compass Favourites Star.  This calendar is continually updated throughout the year as events are approved.

Please note, excursions and camps that relate to particular  subject studies are not listed on the website calendar, but appear on relevant student Compass Dashboards for timely reference by students, parents and carers.

Guides and Curriculum Handbooks

The school has online Student Guides and Curriculum Handbooks that can be found on the BSC website under Learning, or via Compass under the Favourites star. These include the Student/Parent/Carer Guide, Student Leadership Guide, Curriculum Handbooks for each Year Level, the Co-Curricular Program Handbook and Instrumental Music Handbook.  

Each online handbook provides detailed information on their topic and outlines the school's expectations of its students.

Policies

The school’s policies for wellbeing and engagement, uniform, anaphylaxis, child safety, privacy and more can be found on the BSC website under Our School.

The Mobile Phone Policy, Privacy Policy and Uniform Policy are included in this issue of the Brunswick Star for your quick reference.

Compass School Management 

Compass is an app that you can download onto your SmartPhone or onto your computer. 

Compass allows the school to send excursion notes, reminders, announcements, school assessment and reports directly to Parent/Carers.

The Compass Newsfeed acts as a constantly updating newsletter for all Parents/Carers. The system also allows students to see their timetable, as well as their learning tasks, grades and reports.

Many links and documents are conveniently located via Compass, under the Favourites Star.  The illustration below provides an example of this.

The Brunswick Star

The Brunswick Star is an online magazine produced twice per term.  The BSC community is alerted to new editions via Compass newsfeed, but the newsletter and archives can also be accessed via the school website (BSC website under News) and the current newsletter link is always available on Compass under the Favourites Star.

 The Brunswick Star is filled with photos of students and regular news about learning, excursions, learning and special events undertaken at the school.
