From The Dean of Senior School
The Senior School year has begun with a vengeance. Camps, Retreats, RE days, Career Conferences, Outdoor Education Camps and Sports Carnivals, are just a few events that have already taken place, amongst the everyday battle to get to class and complete homework tasks. For Year 11 and 12 students, SACs have begun and the importance of sound study habits is beginning to become a reality for many.
Year 12’s began with a magnificent setting, glorious weather and great company at their camp in Foster. They relaxed, contemplated their plan for the year and enjoyed each other’s company, bonding with fellow students and staff. Students surfed, participated in trivia battles and listened to presentations on gratitude and self-worth. A positive and beneficial start to the year.
The reality of school life has now settled and the holidays are well and truly over. Planning a balanced academic, sport, work and social life is imperative for the success of VCE. I firmly believe that Year 12 students need to have direction and purpose to their study. I encourage parents to discuss their pathways and plans for Year 13, and be a constant reminder that independent study practices are necessary for success.
