An Overview of our Learning
Foundation
Over the last fortnight Foundation students have been drawing self-portraits, which they added to the rainbow they painted the previous week. These are on display in the Visual Arts room. This week students listened to the picture story book “Amelia Ellicott’s Garden” and then they created prints of a garden scene.
Year One and Year Two
Over the last fortnight students used their underwater backgrounds, and created a collage of a seahorse. Some of these are on display outside the library. Last week students worked on line drawings of the sun, which they then covered in primary colour dyes to make a variety of primary and secondary colours. Some of these are on display outside the Visual Arts room.
Year Three and Year Four
Students used tissue paper of different shades of blue and green to create an underwater background for the fish prints they created in the previous session. A selection of these are on display outside the library. Last week students explored a variety of mandalas, and then used silver markers on black paper to begin to create patterns and designs for their own mandala.
Year Five and Year Six
Students have used the last fortnight to finish and display their birds which used lines and patterns. Students were encouraged to create their own designs to add to their birds. A selection of these have been put on display outside the Visual Arts room.
