Learning Focus

Foundation: Students in the Foundation area have progressed with developing their fundamental motor skills. We have extended their learning to incorporate small relay games, team based movement activities and they have undertaken their first health component which was connected to the human body.

Year One-Two: The children in these year levels have continued to practise the underarm throwing skill. They have moved into using the skill through small team games such as beat the ball and the Indigenous Game Borna Jokee. We have also looked at progressing to using the overarm throw and applying the strongman and girl. The students completed their first portfolio task which was connected to the Indigenous Sporting Culture.

Year Three- Year Six: The students in these year levels have been fortunate enough to complete a three week Rugby program delivered by a coach from the Melbourne Storm. The school received a grant from Sporting Schools which helped fund the program. The students learnt the basic skills involved with Rugby League which allowed them to progress to playing a proper game of Rugby (no tackling). The children thoroughly enjoyed the program and now have the opportunity to enrol into a League Stars Program in Term Two which will run after schools at a cost of $49.

National Ride to School Day

You may have noticed an increased amount of students who are riding their scooters or bikes to school, which is a great way to engage in physical activity.

We have also been very proud to say that our students have been increasingly aware of how to be responsible users when inside our school grounds.

Please see below an upcoming date, which we are promoting across our school.
