Parents/Guardians who work in the essential services

Dear Parents/Guardians

I would like to apologise for the late clarification of the following information, and you receiving it now and not yesterday. I have no excuses except that yesterday was rather hectic and I did not get a chance to read my emails post 2.30pm, until last night. The email I received from Catholic Education Melbourne, related to children whose parents/guardians are part of the essential services.

I would like to clarify that as a school, we have a moral obligation to provide supervision for students, whose parents are part of the essential services that our community so desperately needs during these challenging times. If you are a doctor, nurse, work in a hospital, police officer, ambulance driver, teacher both primary and kindergarten, etc, and you do not have the ability to complete your crucial work without your children being supervised, please be assured that our school remains open with staff until 1.00pm Friday.

I would request that if this situation applies to you, that you email me tonight so we can ensure that adequate arrangements are made for your child/ren. Whether your request is for the next two and half days or just part, please do not hesitate to contact me on:

mtierney@shpreston.catholic.edu.au

As in previous correspondence, I ask that you check your emails regularly and strongly encourage you to download our schoolbag app. If school does not reopen next term, these will be the platforms we will use to communicate. Phoning the school may be futile as it is conceivable, that staff may be not be allowed to attend the school, as well as our students.

Thank you for your kind cooperation. Stay safe.

Yours sincerely
