Hands-on Learning

Hello, my name is Daniel and I am a part of Hands on Learning. So far this year we have been building birdhouses. We have had two new people start hands on learning and my friend and I have been trying our hardest to help them.

Every time we start to build something such as the birdhouse, we always think of what skills we have to use such as drilling, cutting, sanding and hammering. At the start, we always set goals and at the end of the day we reflect on them.

Even the Hands on Learning teachers have goals. Brett’s [the Hands-on Learning teacher] goal is to explain this only once, mine is not to open the toolbox upside down. When we build, Brett gives us the choice if we want to build alone or with a partner.
