Big Events Ahead

The SRC is planning some big fundrasing events in 2017.

We are so excited to be part of the Student Representative Council (SRC) for the Early Years Campus, this year. We have already supported a few events this term. Clean up Australia Day, the Easter Raffle and Cultural Diversity Week were all a huge success.

In Term 2 we will be hosting Crazy Hair Day, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and Pyjama/Winter Woolies Day.

In Term 3 we will have a sausage sizzle during the Early Years Celebration Night, Jeans for Genes Day and Footy/Sports Day.

We are still deciding on the events we will run during Term 4. Stay tuned!

The Middle Years representatives had a few extra responsibilities. Lathika and Jakob explain:

All of the SRC had its first meeting on the 22nd of February. In that meeting we engaged with the other SRC's in year 5, 6 and 8 for the first time. We discussed on how we could improve the school in all areas. We thought of many things that we can hopefully achieve.

Throughout this year we are willing to run as many fundraisers and events as we possibly can. We wish to do this so we can give money to foundations to help them in any shape or form including important items for the school.

During a meeting with two school captains we brainstormed many lunchtime clubs which are available to all students at the MY Campus throughout lunch.

On Friday the 17th of March, on behalf of the student leadership team, the SRC team helped by wrapping up the Easter themed gifts Into hampers, which was great fun.

Toward the end of the term, we attended a Whittlesea SRC cluster. We met representatives from other schools and we all enjoyed meeting them. We also discussed on how we could help the community. SRC this term was a great success and a lot of fun.

We think that next term would be jam-packed of enjoyment. Our SRC coordinator, Jess is a fantastic teacher as well as an amazing role model.
