Mini Beasts

Year 1 students participated in the Mini Beasts Wildlife Incursion. Here are some recounts and reflections of this great incursion:

“We had a mini beast incursion. We learnt about mini bests. I learnt about garden snails. They eat people’s plants in people’s gardens. My favourite mini beast was the millipede because it was long. The millipede was very fat! When we touched the stick insect the brown stick insect was very wiggly and it also had spikes on it. The green stick insect was sitting still and it was calm. I also held a red back spider. It was in a jar. There was also a centipede. He was angry. We also learnt about poisonous and venomous insects.”

“I learnt about bugs that have venomous fangs. An arachnid has eight legs. Spiders and scorpions are arachnids and some of their venom come from their creepy tails. My favourite one was the stick mini beast. It was very greeny and very smooth and the leaf insect was cool too!”
