The Art Of War

Year 7 students have been studying Ancient China. Asha and Monique explain:

This term in Humanities we focused on Ancient China.

Renee as our teacher taught us;

  • Ancient Chinese Timelines
  • The Chinese rivers, such as the Yellow River and the Yangtze River
  • Human settlement
  • 8 Ancient Chinese dynasties, such as Xia, Han, Southern, Northern, Tang, Song, Yuan and the Ming

As part of our work on Ancient Egypt we learned how to write in Ancient Egyptian and had a go at writing our name and even developed our own coded messages. We also had to opportunity to research some famous Pharaohs and find some interesting facts about them like “Did you know Cleopatra is closer in age to the iPhone that she is to the Great Pyramid of Giza!”

We also wrote an assignment about of ‘The Art of War’ by Sun Tzu. We wrote about his life, facts about his book “The Art of War” and the inspirational quotes in his book. These quotes were…

“Know your enemy, know yourself”

“Avoid what is strong, find what is weak”

“Always think deeply, never be rash, PLAN, THINK!”
