Building Capacity

Year 4 students have being learning about capacity. Here is what they did:

In Maths this term, Laura the teacher has been taking small groups of students out every Tuesday out of the classroom to do Maths with her.

First, we did a race but not a normal race, we had to pour liquid in a plastic cup and walk all the way to the end without spilling the liquid.

Then the time was up so then we poured it in a measuring cup to see who had the most liquid in their cup, we had to read the measurements in millilitres or litres. The boys won. They had more liquid in their container.

Then we started to do an activity on book creator about measuring and capacity. The whole group was split into partners for this activity. We had to estimate how much liquid in each cup and measure the cups.

After that, we had to put our estimations into book creator and answer the questions and measure the containers and take videos and photos of them. Once we finished we had to send it to the teacher Laura on Showbie then we had some free iPad time.
