Practice Makes Perfect

The Performing Arts captains have been working away behind the scenes. Kaasha and Sheradyn explain:

During this term, we the Performing Arts Captains have been working hard to start planning the school’s Song, Dance and Drama Night that will be held at the end of term two, on June 8th. The MAD band members were in full swing this term, as theory sessions, instrumental music lessons and after school practices have began. The band has been working on developing techniques and skills for their chosen instrument. We the are hoping to encourage more students to participate in everything music, dance and drama.

On the dance floor:

It has been a very exciting start to the year from MAD Dance with the arrival of our new dance teacher Aimee. We spent the first few weeks getting to know her and her dance style and it’s been amazing! So far this year we have been working on our end of term assembly dances and our first assessment task.

We are also looking forward to performing at ‘Together We Dance’  which is being presented by Jump Dance Challenge. This is a showcase of different dance organisations that will come together to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. This will be a fantastic way for us to use our love of dance to help a very worthy cause and an opportunity to show what we can do at The Lakes.

Well, that’s all from MAD Dance this term so until next time, have fun and keep doing what you love.
