Australian Defence Force (ADF) Gap Year Applications Open

Free access to World Book online!

Students can access World Book Encyclopedia online.  The subscription has been covered, so it is free to access for students and staff of the College. 

To access:

Via our school website www.oconnor.nsw.edu.au,  go to Parent Student Information > Student Information > Oliver. Oliver is the Library catalogue. Once you get to Oliver, the final step is to click or 'Orbit' which is a button at the top right corner and then the link to 'World Book Online'.  Happy researching!

InspireEd are hosting two virtual careers expos, one in May and the other in June. 

E-Books

Supplementing the College library's hard copy book collection,  students have access to over 2000 e-books (electronic books) through our online library catalogue.

It is as easy as going to the following link:

https://library.arm.catholic.edu.au/oliver/home/browse/list 

This can also  be found on the College webpage in the 'student links' dropdown menu. The Catalogue is called 'Oliver'.

If they are not already logged into the CSO Portal, there will be a prompt to login to the CE-NET Authentication Portal (CSO Firewall). Students can either search 'e book' in the search box or, search a book directly. 

UAC DATES (University Admissions Centre)

Australian Government Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES) Program

Applications opened on Monday, 20 January 2020 and this fourth round will provide 1100 scholarships, and applications will remain open throughout 2020 or until the scholarships are fully exhausted. 

Scholarships are valued at up to $18,000 for eligible students from regional and remote Australia, in any course of study. Scholarships are awarded taking into consideration financial need, with priority assessment given to the following applicants:

  • Residential address is in a RA4 or RA5 category
  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and provided supporting documentation
  • Identify as having a disability, and provided supporting documentation
  • Chosen course relates to a field where there is low female representation
  • Affected by natural disasters such as drought, 2019-2020 bushfire and/or floods
