Excursion to the Australian National Field Days
On Friday 27 October Cowra High School students visited the Australian National Field Days at Borenore. For many of these students it was the first time that they had attended such an event. Our students observed existing broadacre farming techniques, niche market farming of Alpacas, animal exhibits with several stud cattle on show, new technology with automated stock handling equipment, track drive tractors and farm ATV’s. They also engaged with the local Department of Agriculture, discussing emerging issues from feral animal control and the bee industry. Overall our students had a very enjoyable day, experiencing new technologies, marketing, end products and fashion, seeing what Agriculture has to offer in a life after school.
