This week arrangements for the Australian Jesuit schools’ Debating Carnival have been finalised, and the team of Rory Hewson, Cullen Binet, Aden Cleghorn and Xavier Carr will be flying to Melbourne on Saturday to compete at Xavier College against other Jesuit College from Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. We look forward to a strong performance from the team.  Three teams will be representing John XXIII College at the World Scholar’s Cup in Sydney in August. Team members are:

  • Senior team: Bella Pether, Eve Cullity, Bella Boley
  • Junior Team 1: Yvette Rigg, Anne Cullity and Spencer Burchett,
  • Year 7 team of Maya Mintz, Maddie Boley and Hannah Johnson

Arrangements are being finalised for the Magis Camp which will be held at Point Walter on 9 and 10 August and Magis and Altiora students from Years 7-9 are eligible. Any students who have not submitted forms but wish to attend are asked to email the form to me as soon as possible, as catering numbers need to be finalised. Payments can be made by credit card over the phone.  The program will include presentations from Alpha Motivation and Creative Edge Thinking, a variety of Magis extension activities, and a camp favourite, the flying fox.
