Student Reports

Year 3 Report
To begin this term, we have been practising expository writing in preparation for NAPLAN later in the term. Check our some of our great work so far!
We have also explored collaborative play in Personal, Social and Emotional Learning. Students worked as a team to demonstrate cooperative behaviour during a playful activity. The children were able to identify what good teamwork requires as well as behaviours that hinder group success.

Football Interschool Sports
On Friday last week, Galilee played St Patrick's at Murphy's reserve. It was a great sunny day- perfect conditions to play a game of footy. We went on to play a great game. We kicked quite a few goals and we all played well. We went on to have a win even though we didn’t keep scores.
On the day I think we all played really well especially Ayrton, Alexander and Angus they all did a great job but only to mention a few. Everyone played the best game I’ve ever seen them play. We all played great because we all passed the ball and we all did a great job of stopping the ball from going in their forward line so they can’t kick goals. They had some good players that we couldn’t stop. While we were playing I think Mr Tobin made some dodgy calls in fact they were very dodgy.
We’d like to thank all the parents that came down to help such as Jackie [Joel's mum], Molly [Marco's mum], Viv [Eliza’s mum] and Joseph's mum Jo. We thank you all for coming down to watch.
Thank you Parents, Teachers and Footy players for making the day possible. And a special Thank you to Mr Tobin for umpiring.

Netball Community Sport
On the 20th April some Year 5/6s went to do netball for Community Sports. We were versing St Patrick's Murrumbeena. It was a home game for us so we played at school. Miss Biggs was our coach.
First we got told our positions and did some passing drills. We were really excited to play our game. When the first whistle went to start playing, we were ready. We got off to a really good start intercepting a lot of balls and then passing them down and getting goals. Once we finished our first game we played a second game versing the same team. Some girls had played a lot of netball and some had not played before, but everyone tried hard and worked well as a team. There was no scoring so it was just for fun!
We are really looking forward to our next match on Friday but it will be an away game. We are playing St Finbars this week.
Round 2 Away game vs St Finbars
Netball (90 Centre road East Brighton)
Football (Hurlingham Park Oval, Nepean Highway, Brighton East)
We travel by bus and we are leaving at 12.30pm to start our game at 1.15pm.
