Education in Faith

Sacrament of Confirmation

Students who are part of the Ss. Peter and Paul community will be confirmed on the 3rd of December.  The students have put in a lot of hard work to complete their initiation into the Church. Unlike the Sacrament of Baptism, where their parents and Godparents chose their faith, the students now are mature enough to actively decide to continue their faith journey. Through Confirmation, the candidates choose to become full members of the Church.   On the day the students will be sealed with the Holy Spirit, which will strengthen them to live as Spirit-filled people. We congratulate these students on their decision and help support them and their efforts to increasingly grow as people of God.

Galilee Day

Happy Birthday Galilee By Andrew 5F

Happy birthday Galilee! And what a wonderful birthday it was as well! 320 dedicated students celebrated the birth of Galilee, our wonderful school, on the 24th of November. We had a Liturgy Mass, a Disco, and lastly, a very special lunch for all! Mrs. Ford also had a very special day as the Year 5’s celebrated her upcoming birthday. All in all, Galilee Day was a (needless to say) very fun day for all.

Liturgy Mass:

The liturgy mass was presented by the Year 4’s as well as Father Dean. The whole of Galilee was there to pay homage to the school which has educated us for 23 years since it was built. The Year 4’s presentation was well done and at the end we finished with our glorious school song.

Disco:

The whole school participated in the disco provided by Footsteps and our teacher, Stephanie. Our group, the 5’s and 6’s, learnt 5 steps in a dance. There were moves including bouncing, driving backwards and scuffing. I enjoyed the disco but other boys (most boys) in Year 5 were of another opinion.

Special Lunch:

Some very dedicated and special mums came together in the community and cooked all the students a delicious lunch with meals like hotdogs and wraps being wolfed up by all of us. I ordered and got a yummy hotdog , an orange juice and a chocolate brownie.

In conclusion, I think Galilee Day was a memorable time to celebrate how our school had come together and turned into the Galilee it is today. Many fun activities let us all have fun and I enjoyed myself very much. I believe that Galilee Day united all of the students as it always does, and I can’t wait for it next year!

Hip Hip Hooray!

By Stella 5O

We were all walking into the hall in the morning to start our Liturgy. Galilee day started with a bunch of rain. We all went to the hall and sat down in class lines. Father Dean came in and started the Mass. After it finished all the year levels went up to their classrooms to start the fun activities.

The Year Fives went upstairs and got ready for Mrs Ford's surprise birthday! Mrs Ford was still in the hall packing up while we got ready. Eliza’s Mum, Vivian, came up with a big cake. Every student got a party popper and bubbles. Mrs Ford came in and…...SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!! Mrs Ford had a big smile on her face. Later we cut the cake and everyone got a big piece. We played pass the parcel and everyone got a lollipop and at the end Mrs Ford got a big packet of Sour Patch Kids.

Then, we went down to the playground and tied up the pinata to the ropes. Everyone had 2 goes with the blindfold and got some lollies. We had to quickly clean up because it was time to go for our dance session in the hall. We met a girl called Stephanie and she was from a company called Footsteps. Behind her she had this massive DJ machine. She played some cool beats and taught the Year Fives and Sixes a cool hip hop dance. It was so much fun and it was also funny seeing all the teachers dance along. At the end of the day we also had a wellbeing session with the same girl Stephanie. We played some fun games and learnt some new things.

Galilee day was really fun overall mostly because we didn't do any work and just played fun games all day. The best part of the day for me was probably the fun games that we played for Mrs Ford’s Birthday. I can’t wait until the next Galilee day to fun and play fun games.
