Junior School Highlights

Year 7 Camp

On Wednesday 7th March, the Year 7 cohort took the long and winding road to camp at Rawson’s Village. Students were introduced to a magnificent landscape full of interesting and daring activities such as swimming, high ropes, rock climbing, bushwalking and other activities to build social interactions, community awareness, self-confidence, problem solving, teamwork, trust and life skills. The camp talent show revealed many hidden talents, from singing, dancing and piano solos to some future stand-up comedians. Camp was a great opportunity for students to make new friends and get to know their teachers. On Friday afternoon a tired group of students arrived back at Glen Eira College with new friendships and plenty of stories to tell.

The Cross Country Carnival is on the last day at school at Caulfield Park. It is a great way to celebrate the end of term 1 and promises to be a great day.

Drone Club

This is our first year offering Drone Club as an extracurricular activity for junior students. The advancement in recent years of UAV’s, Drones are no longer military use only. Their wide use as both recreational and workplace tools makes it important our students are given the opportunity to learn not only how to fly them but maintain and repair the equipment. Multi skilling our students can only enhance their opportunities in the future.
