Pastoral Care Worker News

Term 4 is always so busy and it seems to fly past before you can blink.  Christmas is only 49 days away!!! Yikes!

I always try to shop early to spread the spending out and next newsletter I will talk about de-stressing Christmas.

I have managed to obtain around 20 Christmas Hampers for families in our School. Many families do it tough at this time of the year so we are seeking donations to put together more hampers to help our community. Normal pantry items and special Christmas treats such as lollies, chocolates, mince pies or puddings would be great, as well as some personal care items such as toothpaste or soap. Perhaps you have a few spare items in your pantry which you could donate or you could buy a few items with your next shop.  I really appreciate anything that you could donate. I have placed a box opposite the Reception desk in the front office which you can place your items in.

Other News

The Hackham Family Baptist Church are having a Family Fun day on Saturday 10 November  at 88 Pennys Hill Road to launch their Community Garden in partnership with Onkaparinga Council and Junction Australia. They are looking for volunteers to help in the garden, so if you are a keen gardener you may be interested. We are hoping to have a community garden in our school as well, so please get involved if you wish.

There will be fun activities for the children as well as a free sausage sizzle on the day, which is open from 10:00am to 1:00pm. I have some special Vouchers in my room which will allow you to take home your own vegetable or herb garden box on the day.  Please see me if you would like one. My Office is situated in the Uniform shop and I will be at school all day Tuesdays and Fridays as well as Wednesday afternoons. Leave a message with Lee if you would like to pop in and I will make sure I am in my office.

Parent Afternoon Tea

If you haven’t popped in lately, come and meet myself and other parents on Fridays in the Conference Room, Penney Unit from 2.30pm for free coffee and cake. It is a lovely relaxing way to end your week before picking your child/children up. I hope to see you there.
