e-Learning

In Room 5 we have been focusing on improving our reading fluency and expression. One way we have been using the iPads to help us with this learning goal, is to record ourselves reading our poems and then listening to the recorded reading. When we are listening to our recorded reading, we are able to identify the areas that we read well, with expression and fluency, and we are able to listen to the areas that we could make improvements to. We find the voice recording app a wonderful tool to use in our classroom and we use the app in many other areas of our learning too such as recording our ideas before we begin our writing and listening to them whilst we are writing or recording our ideas to share back to the class at a later time during a class discussion.

Maybe you could try using the voice recording app on your device this week. You could even record yourself reading a book and share the recording with someone so they can follow along with your reading like an audio book!

Fun Fact – Did you know that you can talk faster than you can write! The average person speaks 125 – 150 words per minute!
