Deputy Principal's Report

Years 8, 10 and 12

How quickly has this year passed……

Term 4 is nearing the end, with many events happening to complete a very different year for our school community.   As a proud Deputy of our School, I’m in awe at the resilience, creativity and commitment demonstrated by our students and staff this year.

YEAR 12 HSC IS COMPLETED

Congratulations to Year 12 upon completing your final examinations.  All students are to be commended on their application and conduct during the examination process.  The school would also like to acknowledge Mrs Lyn Emery and her team of supervisors for their support during the examinations.  Mrs Emery has indicated she will be stepping down as Presiding Officer this year.  We would like to acknowledge her commitment and support of our HSC students over the past three years in the role.

In addition, on the 17 November, it was my pleasure to attend the Year 12 Formal conducted in the Henry Kendall High School MPC.  The night was a wonderful event and a fitting way to say goodbye to our wonderful Year 12 cohort.  Special thanks to Ms Sasha Fitzgerald and Mrs Natalie Wearne who have both supported Year 12 as Year Adviser and Deputy Principal over the past six years.  We would also like to acknowledge Ms Jacquie Bennett for her support in the organisation of the Year 12 Formal.

HSC results are released on Tuesday 15 December. We look forward to seeing many of Year 12 return for a celebration breakfast on that day. Details will be provided on the Year 12 Facebook page.

STAGE 6 PREPARATION PROGRAM

This term Year 10 will engage in the Stage 6 Preparation Program in readiness for their transition into Stage 6 next year.  Students have been issued the three week program which commences Monday 23 November and runs for three weeks.

Thank you to parents and carers for your support of the program.

YEAR 7, 2021 TRANSITION

Due to COVID, the transition program for Year 7, 2021 has looked very different for this year.  Mrs Wearne, the Year 7 Deputy, and Mr Newton, the Year 7 Adviser,  met virtually with new students last week, and answered many questions in regards to the transition to high school.

I would like to acknowledge the ongoing commitment of both our partner schools, Gosford Public School and Point Claire Public School, in fully supporting the Transition Program resulting in a positive transition experiences for all students.

We look forward to meeting all students at the Orientation Day on Tuesday, 1 December.

Mrs Donna James

Deputy Principal
