The class of 2020 looked absolutely amazing last Friday night at their Graduation. Mr Paterson and Ms Corby escorted each of the students into the function room where they took their seats and enjoyed what was possibly their last time together. Mr Thorne highlighted the accomplishments of this remarkable group of young people and Olivia Hogan and Jack Thomas took the opportunity to sum up, what could only be described, as a most unusual year. Below is a photo of our Year 12 students who will now be pursuing many opportunities that they have been working towards. I look forward to sharing their successes later in the year. Already, most students who have applied for Early Entry University Offers have been successful, and with the additional news of apprenticeships and work opportunities, I can see that this Year group have made the most of what has been a difficult year.
This week I will be meeting with Year 11 students in an effort to determine how to best support this group of students. As several students have left the Year group, due to gaining apprenticeships, the group is now smaller and we are keen to discuss their needs for 2021. Having come through a tough year, the next 12 months are crucial for Year 11. It is hoped that in speaking with each Year 11 student we will be able to offer assisted study sessions and seminars to help develop the skills necessary to be successful in 2021.
Earlier this year I surveyed parents to gauge interest in the viability of an Out of School Hours Care service and I am pleased to report that due to the interest expressed, construction of this facility will begin next week.
I have also been asked to have as many parents respond to the survey below to help with the future organisation of the facility.
All parents with children at Molong Central School are encouraged to take the survey regardless of their intention to use the facility or not. The survey comprises of a series of 5 questions.

Thank you for your anticipated response. This service will have a significant impact on our community, as it will open possibilities for families who would not normally be able to work, due to caring for young children.
I am pleased to announce that Gay Somerville has been permanently appointed to Molong Central School as our Student Support Officer. Gay has extensive experience, tertiary qualifications and brings a wide range of skills and contacts to the position. I know that having Gay working with our students and families will enhance the wellbeing of our school community.
