Breakfast Club
Year 11 VCAL students ran the first Breakfast Club in the new outdoor dining area last Thursday. This was purchased with funding from the Lynne Kosky Memorial VCAL Grant received in 2021. Hot drinks were also available to purchase for the teachers.
Student feedback included:
"When running the Breakfast Club for the first time this year, it was a bit overwhelming as there were many students lining up and waiting for the bread to be toasted as well slowed us down. However, it was an enjoyable experience nonetheless and I would do it again." (Julie)
"I signed up for the first week of the Breakfast Club and was on toast and cereal with one of my friends. First, we set up the outdoor dining area so people could take a seat while they ate and could socialise with their friends. Then we started toasting the bread. We did have some difficulties with the toaster but eventually it worked out. Gradually, it got busier and more crowded and we had to hurry up a bit and it was quite stressful, but in the end it was fun and very enjoyable and overall, a good experience. The most popular toast was fairy bread." (Chloe)
"My role in the breakfast club was the barista role to make coffee for the teachers. I enjoyed it very much and I gained more experience with the barista machine. I learnt more on how to make cappuccinos, lattes and mocha. I enjoyed making the coffees and being with my friends while doing my role." (Eden)
