Prayer

Creator God,

May we take a moment to reflect on the power of the tremendous women in our lives.  May we give thanks to the women who raised us - who comforted us when we were scared, wiped our tears when we were hurt and cheered us on as we reached every milestone.

Creator God,

May we give thanks to the women of the past who challenged their societal norms and fought for all the rights of women so that all women could be educated, vote, work, marry freely, live freely and without fear, knowing that they shared in the dignity of the human person.

Creator God,

Just as Mary the mother of Jesus, faced fear of rejection, heartache and suffering.  May we be inspired  by her compassion and bravely choose to follow the path you lay before us.  May we each stand before the cross that life presents us and show faith, love, humility and bravery in our moments of heartache and fear. 

Creator God.

May our Killester students go forth in the world as people of action and determination.  May they appreciate the work of all the women who have gone before and who walk beside them today.  May they foster a safe and inspiring world for the the women of tomorrow and all God’s people
