Captains Corner

Dear GWPS community, my name is Tiana and I am here to inform all of you on several activities and events that have happened over the past 2 weeks. Firstly, as you might know if you attended our assembly this Monday, we proudly announced the 2022 Junior School Council (JSC) representatives - congratulations to all of those children! At our school there are three JSC positions for each class; student voice, service learning, and environment. Each of them have responsibility, which I am excited to watch them fulfill. Congratulations to everyone and well done for taking up the courage to talk in front of your class for something your passionate about!

Secondly, the year 4’s to 6’s have been to Athletics in week 5. The teachers and other students are glad to see that everyone tried their best and displayed good sportsmanship. There were a range of different events, including long jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus. We hope everyone enjoyed the day out and we look forward to more sports events later in the year.

Closely related, the Year 6’s competed in the Summer Round Robin, for a range of different sports with other schools on Friday, Week 5. The Year 6’s have prepared for this every Friday morning and definitely were excited on the bus journey there. Thank you for reading this newsletter and hope you have a great time at school!
